Why Are You Fighting for Your Limiting Beliefs?

06/06/2022

Welcome back to another edition of Mom Bun Monday 🎉 my favorite day of the week where we get to pretend we're catching up over (hot) coffee for just five minutes and nerd the heck out over ALL THE THINGS!!!

Yes, that deserves multiple exclamation points.

👋 Btw, if you're new here, hi! I'm Ashlyn, and I like warm hugs. ⛄️

Other fun shenanigans you should probably know about me:

👉 I'm a mom of 4 kiddos all under the age of 8.

👉 My Enneagram is 3w2 (in other words, I'm a goal-oriented workaholic who loves to be recognized for my work AND I'm all up in my feels with the relationships I have with others). Honestly, Idk if that's even something to be proud of. 👀

👉 Pet peeve: "Sneak Peak" 😫

👉 I'm still proud that I know all the rap lyrics to TLC's Waterfalls. 🎤

...and now back to today's regularly scheduled program. 👇

What's On Our Minds

TOP STORY

Limiting beliefs.

Holy smokes, this is a big one. I posted this recently on Instagram because well, I figured so many people would be able to relate to it. 👇

"Why are you fighting for your limiting beliefs?" 👀

Are you should’ing on yourself?

It could sound like:👇

👉 I should be posting consistently, but…
👉 I should giveaway a freebie, but…
👉 I should email my list, but…

I get it.

You’ve been given well-intended advice, but right now?

✨ Put those aside because quite frankly, it’s tiresome.

Try this instead: 👇

✅ Make a list of what it is you want. Don’t hold back!

Now ~ if I told you to make it happen, would you believe you could do it?

Or… would you tell me all the reasons why you can’t? 👀

☀️ I BELIEVE IN YOU, FRIEND. MAKE IT HAPPEN. ☀️

*end of my post*

📚 James Clear, the author of Atomic Habits, said:

"It's hard to change your habits if you never change the underlying beliefs."

With that I ask you ~ what are your underlying beliefs?

...about your ability to succeed?

...about the impact you have on Instagram?

I've made several observations after I compliment and/or encourage some people to go after what they want where they immediately tell me why they can't make that happen, and quite frankly it makes me sad.

Sad that their mindset was in a fixed state, not one of growth, at the time. 🧠

Sad that they were fighting for their limiting beliefs.

I hope your coffee ☕️  is still hot so we can have a conversation about this in the comments! 👇
